The Festival, also known as the June 2017 incident, was an unauthorized event organized by the developers ktsss and Quartz_Soldier and hosted on June 25th, 2017, in an attempt to boycott MyROBLOX due to Wrathoxic's alleged treatment of staff members.
About[]
On April 22nd, 2017, Quartz_Soldier, invisible with a forcefield, inserted a paintball map far below the base game map to use as a platform to insert rare badges, presumably to test giving out hats. Once the area was found by the player SindexMon using Blackbeard's Hand Cannon, with him collecting the badges laid out, he was intimidately messaged by Quartz to remove the badges from his inventory immediately, which he did. Though this heavily implies the event was planned beforehand, it is ultimately inconclusive.
In mid-June 2017, the builder ktsss made the decision to leave the development team of MyROBLOX for unknown reasons, though allegedly due to issues with the games owner, Wrathoxic. When she left, she requested for her build in the Brickfield City expansion, a large detailed church, to be removed, which Wrath refused to do.
In the month of June 2017, she convinced some of the game's staff, including trever145 and imdone13, to join her in boycotting the game. The game, without any scripts and with Kt's church removed, was then leaked on V3rmillion by Quartz and spread around to members of the Discord server. An event was hosted unannounced on MyROBLOX by multiple staff members, most notably Quartz and Trever, which they told everyone was a goodbye event. They used an exploit in Kohl's Admin Infinite, originally tested by Quartz a month prior, that allowed them to insert every badge giver into the game, giving players any badge they wanted. Temporary admin commands were also given to any players who asked for it.
Once the event ended and Wrath got wind of it, he quickly banned all players and staff involved, though unbanned players who deleted the badges given to them. Imdone, though not involved in the event itself, went on the game and began to abuse his moderator powers to say to boycott MyROBLOX and Wrath, according to a witness, and was also banned with the others. The Discord server was spammed with many players hurling insults at Wrath, before leaving. A new Discord server was made by Kt, which the banned players were invited to. This Discord server no longer exists.
Aftermath[]
The majority of the active playerbase left the Discord server, and on September 9th, 2017, the original Discord server was permanently deleted.
The damage to the game never fully recovered, with MyROBLOX Beta recieving less than 100k visits in 3 years compared to ROBLOX 2008 Simulator and MyROBLOX Legacy's ~650k in the same amount of time, along with some of the original players never returning. MyROBLOX Beta was also discontinued some time in 2019.
The majority of staff members directly involved in the event have either declined to speak about it or have not commented on it, with the exception of Ignouss (trever145), who stated she forgot most details other than what was already known, and imdone13, who said on the Discord server that it was a "shitshow", and that he felt heavily pressured during the drama. "I loved being a part of this community and wish things didn't end the way they did."
Games[]
After the boycott, many players wanted another game akin to MyROBLOX to play.
In early June 2017, Tasdanop created a joke game called My bootleg, and ended up taking the map leaked by Quartz_Soldier in order to adapt it into a ripoff of MyROBLOX on the 26th.
Around the same time as the adaption of My bootleg, Pumpkinoxic created a game called An Old Roblox Adventure (ANORA), meant to be more of a spiritual successor to MyROBLOX, compared to My bootleg stealing the game to spite Wrathoxic.
